I have loved Edward Gorey's "The Gashlycrumb Tinies" since I discovered it as a teenager. Almost everyone remembers what this poem was once I start reciting: "A was for Amy who fell down the stairs, B is for Basil assaulted by Bears..." I got word that the originals to the "tinies" were still intact (along with the cover art) and were on display at the Gorey House until the end of 2005. Since I will most liikely never get the chance to own an original "tiny" I have commissioned some of today's best artists and some promising up-and-comers to re-invent the Gashlycrumb Tinies in their own style from their own perspective and with complete freedom to take the piece whereever they choose.
