I can count at least a dozen times in the last few years where I came close to getting a great Brian Bolland Batman example only to have the piece slip through my fingers or have the deal blow up in my face. Well with alot of effort I was able to bring home one of my top all time Bolland Batman examples.
Brian Bolland only did 3 covers for the main Batman title. That's right only 3. He is identified with this character for his watershed work on Killing Joke, but on the flagship title he was the cover artist only 3 times. Of those three covers, this one is at the top of the heap for me. Batman in full on battle, great perspective, background, and detail. This one has it all and I am thrilled that my Bolland Batman example has finally come home to roost.
