I had the chance to meet Ben at Heroes Con 2008, when I picked up two great pieces from him. He is the acclaimed artist and writer of "Farewell Georgia" and most recently the 126 page graphic novel "Midnight Sun". His style of cartooning is addictive to look at and his sense of pacing and story telling are stellar.
I struck up a conversation with Ben in Charlotte and showed him some samples of past trophy walls and he immediately started throwing out villains that he wanted to work on. We decided later that Doc Ock had so much potential is was shocking he was not done before. This piece was the result. I am thrilled with the sense if wimsy Ben brought to a piece that could have been simply dark. ;-)
Doc Ock took on and continues to take on the heavy hitters of the Marvel Universe. The FF, Avengers, Daredevil and of course..Spidey. Ben included all of them in Doc's lab, where Doc is relaxing and having his arms mix him a drink and light his stogie.....and who'd a thunk it...he carries a torch for Aunt May after all these years.

Ben is super talented guy with a great sense of humor. I would recommend him to anyone looking to have a commission. His rates are reasonable, his turn around time fast and accurate, and his care in creating the piece of very professional.
