After many years of searching and looking for the original art to the cover above I found it.....the only problem was that it was auctioned off and went for a HUGE STACK OF CASH $$$....take whatever number you think it sold for and then double it and you are probably close to the final number. Sad, dejected, and downtrodden and ready to give up all hope of art nirvana I heard from Spencer Beck of www.theartistschoice.com and both he and the legendary Bob Layton rode to the rescue.
Mr. Layton was able to lightbox the re-creation you see above directly from the original cover. So it is exact down to the last line and detail. If I cannot have the original art I can have a recreation by the original artist made from the original itself. Not too shabby, and Mr. Layton demonstrates that the skill he exhibited in creating this cover many years ago has not diminished one bit.
